Sr. Consulting Controller

As a Sr. Consulting Controller, you will play a crucial role in assisting clients during periods of change, transition, and growth through hands-on accounting and finance services. Partnering with members of the PlusPoint and client teams, you will deliver services in a variety of areas as dictated by client situation and need. Your clients will range from the scrappy start-up looking for help managing cash and growth plans to the established company seeking to optimize current processes and technologies. Areas of focus include:

  • Overseeing client accounting functions and close process
  • Preparing and issuing timely and complete financial reporting packages
  • Developing and reporting key operating metrics
  • Establishing and optimizing business processes and internal controls
  • Assessing client accounting staff and providing recommendations regarding structure, size and team competencies
  • Mentoring and coaching PlusPoint and client staff to improve performance
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, debt provisions, etc.
  • Developing and maintaining operating plans, budgets and forecasts
  • Partnering with the PlusPoint Digital Operations team to identify and deliver appropriate digital systems

Measures of Success - The requirements of every client engagement vary. Your success will be measured by your ability to:

  • Develop and maintain the trust and confidence of clients, team members and other partners while often working from a remote location
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with PlusPoint and client team members to achieve desired outcomes
  • Self-start and self-direct activities, including ongoing adjustment of activity priorities, among multiple clients and multiple and varied projects.
  • Effectively communicate with client personnel at multiple levels in the organization, including mobilizing and managing internal resources toward achieving committed outcomes and deadlines.
  • Assess current state of client accounting operations and recommend and deliver improvements for sustained results
  • Identify opportunities to improve controls and business processes, obtain client-side support, andimplement recommendations and improvements in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Deliver high quality results, including financial reports, metrics, operating plans, etc., within established timelines and budgets
  • Effectively manage, mentor and coach client and PlusPoint team members
  • Complete other project-based deliverables as required

Knowledge, Experience and Education

  • Minimum 8 years of experience obtained through increasingly responsible positions within the accounting and finance function, with at least 5 years management experience
  • SaaS experience, including a solid foundation in SaaS metrics, along with other high-tech experience highly desirable
  • Excellent knowledge of GAAP, financial cycles, processes, and controls
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, automated financial and reporting systems, other Microsoft Office products, and other tools commonly used by accounting and finance teams
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify and communicate complex financial issues to executives and peers in a manner that achieves buy-in/gains acceptance
  • Experience developing financial plans and forecasts, cash forecasts, and financial and operating metrics
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or MBA a plus.

Sr. Consulting Financial Analyst

As a Sr. Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in assisting clients during periods of change, transition, and growth through hands-on finance services. Partnering with members of the PlusPoint and client teams, you will deliver value-added financial plans, models, and analysis as dictated by the client situation and needs. Your clients will range from the scrappy start-up, looking to develop a financial model to support early fundraising, to the established company, seeking analyses in support of strategic initiatives and business decisions. Areas of focus include:

  • Developing, enhancing, and delivering financial plans and models
  • Preparing ad-hoc analyses and providing value-added insights in support of strategic initiatives and business    decision-making
  • Managing monthly and other periodic budget versus actual reporting and providing insightful reports and analyses
  • Developing and reporting client appropriate KPIs and metrics
  • Preparing materials for Board, investor, and other stakeholder communication on financial expectations and results
  • Evaluating existing forecasting tools and processes, recommending and delivering improvements
  • Partnering with the PlusPoint Digital Operations team to identify and deliver appropriate digital systems
  • Mentoring PlusPoint and client personnel to increase understanding of business planning processes and cadences, KPIs and metrics, and value of measuring actual vs. plan/forecast results

Sr. Digital Operations Consultant

As a Sr. Digital Operations Consultant, you will work as part of a project team assisting clients with business intelligence and reporting, data, business systems, and business process.  PlusPoint client projects cover a broad range of digital services including, internal digital strategy development, business system selection, implementation, and optimization. Your business acumen, combined with your passion for business systems, will allow you to provide high-value solutions for PlusPoint’s clients. Areas of focus include:

  •  Assessing current state of client’s digital operations
  •  Identifying opportunities to improve client’s digital operations, obtaining client-side support, and implementing recommendations and improvements in a timely and cost-effective manner
  •  Leading clients through discovery and design workshops
  •  Understanding client needs - defining business requirements for functional and technical solutions and performing gap analysis between package functionality and customer requirements
  •  Implementing system customizations, business processes, or system enhancements
  •  Developing data conversion, migration, and reconciliation strategies and processes
  •  Performing product demonstrations and/or provide client training sessions

PlusPoint is a dispersed team and, depending on the client and the nature of the engagement, you will work   either from your home office or the client location.

Knowledge, Experience and Education

  • Minimum of 7 Years of relevant experience
  • Experience implementing and/or administering business systems - Netsuite and Salesforce.com experienced preferred
  • Intermediate to expert experience with core business processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, subscription/contract management, lead to quote to order to invoice, revenue recognition, professional services, distribution, and manufacturing
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify and communicate complex issues to executives and peers in a manner that achieves buy-in/gains acceptance
  • Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree.  Business degree with a focus in Accounting, Finance, or MIS preferred

Staff Accountant

As a Staff Accountant, you will work as part of a team providing hands-on accounting services to PlusPoint clients. You will be responsible for performing general accounting tasks, including assisting with month-end close, the preparation of monthly financial reports, and identifying and implementing accounting controls and processes. Your clients will range from the scrappy start-up, establishing its internal accounting processes, to the established company, seeking accounting support during personnel transitions and peak workloads. Areas of focus include:

  • Compiling and analyzing financial information and preparing appropriate journal entries
  • Preparing monthly account reconciliations
  • Supporting accounts receivable activities to ensure timely invoicing and collection of amounts due
  • Ensuring timely and accurate entry of vendor invoices
  • Assisting with the identification and implementation of appropriate accounting controls and processes
  • Preparing information for tax preparers and auditors
  • Preparing monthly financial reports
